This is the most beautiful place we have visited so far. It is also our favorite. Cinque Terre is a group of 5 towns linked by walking paths between them. All 5 of the towns sit overlooking the Mediterranean. Levanto is just north of these 5 towns. It is a small seaside resort town. There were not a lot of foreign tourists like the other 5 towns, so we were really able to experience the Italian small town feel.
Cannes was awesome. We stayed in a nice apartment with a 10 minute walk to the beach. Cannes does have a bit of a chi-chi feel to it. The water was warm and we had some nice waves to body surf.
I now have time to upload most of our pictures and video from the past week. Our first stop of the trip was Nice, France. This city was exactly like New Orleans. They must of designed New Orleans after Nice. Lafayette Square was a perfect replica. All the buildings had rod iron balconies and shuttered windows. We found a great Irish Pub (Ma Nolans) and watched the Roddick – Murray tennis match. The place was filled with British, we were the only ones rooting for Roddick.

We were able to catch Stage 2 of the Tour de France live. We drove up to a small village north of Cannes, found a table at a bakery and hung out. It was a cool experience. The town of Pre du Lac came alive for a couple of hours.

We have made it back to Luxembourg and we are taking a day of rest. The only thing we need to do today is buy a few groceries. Later today I will start posting more pictures and video from the trip. The sun is out here and it looks like it’s going to be a nice day. We have had perfect weather the whole trip.
We made it into Florence after spending the morning in Lucca. Florence is a good sized city and we are not used to all the people after hanging in the small towns of Cinque Terre. We walked around Florence today and took some pictures. We are off to have dinner with cousin Chris tonight. Here are some more pictures of our last few days.
We are in Levanto, Italy. It is just north on the Cinque Terre region on the edge of a very large National Park. Its a small beach resort town, with not a lot of tourists.
We are off to walk the towns of Cinque Terre today. I have a very weak wifi signal. I must sit on the balcony of my hotel room to pick it up.
We visted Monaco and Monte Carlo yesterday, I will post pictures when I have time. If I ever get a fast connection I will upload all my pictures to my flickr account.
Yesterday we walked around the city of Cannes. It reminds me a lot of Beverly Hills (from what I have seen on 90210). We went to the beach and it was the first time I went swimming in the Mediteranian Ocean. The water is much saltier. The surface of the water is very calm, but there was a sizable rip current, more then Old Silver Beach anyway.
Today we are heading to an island off the coast of Cannes. I am not sure of the name, but it was made famous from the story of the “Man in the Iron Mask”. You can google it if you want. I will twitter some pictures later. Until then, here is my morning view.
As I said before, we have no wifi in Cannes, so all posts are from my iPhone. I got some nice video of the Tour de France which I will post when we get to Florence.
We visited a castle in Gourdon yesterday and had nice dinner in the old part of Cannes. D had her picture taken on the red carpet steps where the film festival is held. For now another picture from my phone.
